This project involved the installation of Rapid’s acclaimed ‘Easi-Fit’ climate control units and conventional Fujitsu systems to provide a more comfortable working environment for office staff at Oxford Building Services (OBS), the specialist construction unit of Oxford City Council. OBS provides a complete service from initial contact for customers to report repairs required, to design, specification, tendering and completion of major works.

With OBS operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, a system that could cope with the most extreme temperatures of both hot summer days and cold winter nights was required.

Oxford City Council 2The facility’s smaller offices and meeting rooms are now equipped with Rapid Unico ‘Easi-Fit’ systems with the only external clue to their presence being small round grilles which blend into the brickwork.

Oxford City Council 3Meanwhile, the large, busy Contact Centre is served by an arrangement of ceiling mounted Fujitsu units, while the more compact surroundings of Technical Services and the reception area are fitted with Fujitsu high-level wall-mounted units.
