The task of installing a new heating and air conditioning system into newly refurbished bedrooms at this members’ club in London’s Berkeley Square was challenging as condensers could not be positioned on the roof, the normal location for them in this type of installation, with the club’s owners also insisting that the new equipment had to blend in with its internal environment

To meet these stringent requirements, Rapid supplied compact wall-mounted heat recovery air conditioning units from Mitsubishi Electric, which combine minimal intrusion with maximum cooling and heating efficiency and feature simple-to-use control panels for easy adjustment by guests. The condensers were housed in a dedicated plant room with a special ventilation system in the same room to extract the air discharged from them. Rapid even supplied the units painted in a specific colour to match their interior surroundings!

This job was one of several undertaken by Rapid for the Lansdowne Club, the former private house of a Regency Prime Minister which houses a restaurant, swimming pool and gymnasium behind its elegant façade.

What they say:

“We have been very pleased with the results of our new air conditioning and heating system. Our aim from the outset was to source a system that retained the integrity of both the interior and exterior of the building, yet was still able to provide a high level of comfort for our members. We feel that this has been achieved with great success by Rapid”.
