Gazprom Marketing & Trading is the UK energy marketing office for Gazprom, the world's largest gas company. Based in Kingston upon Thames, London, the office was developed through IOR Group who specialise in creating aspirational workplaces.

When IOR began this refurbishment of two buildings each with 4 floors, they called on Rapid Air Conditioning to help with the design of the air conditioning system. IOR and Rapid have worked together on other successful installations such as their own offices and Worley Parsons so they knew they could be relied upon to be speedy with quotes and project plans and complete the project on time.

A brief was given stating the different areas to be renovated, detailing the requirements from each area. The areas covered were reception, general office space, server rooms and communal areas. The system designed by Rapid included a combination of wall and ceiling mounted ducts have been used together with a cassette unit in reception.

The Server room was more difficult as it is a confined working space with a gas suppression system. A combination of a split system and two tower cooling units were used to provide the right level of cooling needed.

Some of the challenges overcome were confined working spaces while working with other contractors and narrow access ways to the site. Some of the rooms were changed from their original use, such as a restaurant which is now an office area, so an assessment of the systems in place needed completing to see of the current system layout would work for the new usage.

The offices are now fully developed and used by an employee base from over 32 different countries. Rapid are now used to service and maintain these units when required.
