Frederick W. Paine have been funeral directors for the past 125 years and have been at the Horace Road, Kingston location since 1960's.
They have a diary office with large windows that create a stifling environment in the summer and as they aren't double glazed it lets any heat out of the office. The existing heating system isn't thermostat controlled so it's either baking hot or freezing cold. They desperately needed a solution that would make the room comfortable all year round.
Another area that needed cooling is an ancillary room in the mortuary where the deceased rest prior to their funeral following the embalming process.
Dignity have a retained air conditioning company but they also got a quote from Rapid Air Conditioning after researching other suppliers. Rapid won the contract against the retained company due to the price being more competitive, but it was also felt they understood the needs and requirements better. The site survey was also thorough and it was explained how the external appearance of the building would be effected as the exterior is very important to the funeral directors.
The installers were sensitive to the nature of the business and the needs of the staff, only working when the requires areas were empty and unused. The installation was complete in 4 days despite obstacles of having access to the neighbours property to fit the external unit for the mortuary area unit.
Following the installation, the funeral directors have taken out a service and maintenance contract with Rapid and have spoken to them about future projects. Even when a slight water leak occured, Rapid were extremely responsive and dealt with the problem immediately and there have been no subsequent problems.
