Project: Supply and installation of air conditioning to several areas in De Lucy Primary School, Abbey Wood, London. |
De Lucy Primary School is a community school in the borough of greenwich, catering for children from 3-11 years of age. During the summer there are plenty of hot areas in the school such as the computer suite and the first floor classrooms.
The premises manager Colin Lewis looked at all the areas in the school where they would like to install air conditioning and started speaking to a number of suppliers about a long-term installation plan working within budgets as and when they were allocated by the local authority.
Rapid Air Conditioning was the preferred choice after reviewing a number of suppliers. The reasons they were chosen were: their excellent reputation, being willing to negotiate on price and the belief that the account manager could really understand their requirements and needs.
The first stage of the project was the computer suite of the school with a number of PCs and an interactive whiteboard with projector, the room was getting very hot especially in summer. A cassette unit was installed in here providing extra cooling for the IT equipment and children. This not only keeps the children comfortable but prolongs the life span of the IT equipment, protecting their investment.
This project has lasted two years to date, with the work being completed during holiday periods so there would be disruption to the children and teachers.
There are further areas to be developed as budgets become available so the relationship between Rapid Air Conditioning and De Lucy primary school continues.
What they say:
"I have been very happy with the service received from Rapid to date, the installers were courtious, tidy and accomodating of our needs. Rapid met all of our time restraints and were prepared to negotiate on price to maximise our allocated budgets."
